MS State, as part of their PCI Foundation Studio program, conducted final reviews on April 20th in the Giles Architecture Building. This year’s project was a Habitat For Humanity House within a neighborhood just outside of Starkville, MS. The studio, which is a collaborative effort between Architectural students and Construction Science students truly represents real world interactions. The amount of effort and thought that went into the design, construction scheduling and estimating of these homes was amazing. Precast walls, in some form, had to be included within the design and some teams really thought outside the box with regard to precast usage.  Professor Gregory created a competition with the  top two teams winning $500 (to be split evenly between team members). The judges had a difficult time selecting winners due to the incredible designs from the teams. The two winning teams are pictured below. Many thanks to John Breazeale and Jesse Morrison from Habitat For Humanity in taking time to help the students during the design phase. Also, thank you to Matt DeVoss, Andrew Westfall, Tom Moore, Charles Jones from Tulane, Ducan Thomas and Marshall Walters for volunteering to serve as judges.
